FitKit SA ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Who we are

FitKit SA provides personalised digital meal and nutrition plans. For the purposes of POPIA, we are the "responsible party" for the personal information we process.

What we collect

To create your plan and provide our services, we collect:

  • Identity and contact details: your name and email address.

  • Physical and lifestyle information: age, weight, height, activity level, dietary preferences, food budget, and your fitness or nutrition goal.

  • Payment information: processed by our payment provider (see below); we do not store your full card details ourselves.

  • Communications: any messages, questions, or check-in updates you send us.

  • Website usage: basic technical data such as cookies (see the cookie section below).

Special note on health-related information

Some information you give us — such as your weight, body measurements, and nutrition goals — may be considered sensitive. We only use it to create and adjust your plan, we do not share it for any other purpose, and you provide it voluntarily by choosing to buy a plan. Our plans are for general informational and educational purposes only and are not medical advice.

Why we collect it

We process your personal information to:

  • create your personalised meal plan;

  • deliver your plan and communicate with you about it;

  • process your payment;

  • respond to your questions and provide support;

  • improve our plans and services; and

  • send you service-related or marketing messages where you have agreed to receive them (you can opt out at any time).

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with third parties that help us run the business, and only as far as needed:

  • [Payment provider — e.g. Paystack / PayFast / Yoco / Stripe] to process payments;

  • [Selar / your delivery platform] to deliver your plan;

  • [Email provider — e.g. Gmail / your mailing tool] to communicate with you.

These providers process information on our behalf and are required to keep it secure. Some may process data outside South Africa; where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information remains protected.

How long we keep it

We keep your personal information only as long as needed to provide your plan and support, to meet legal and tax obligations, and to resolve disputes. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

How we protect it

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to keep your information secure, including [restricted access / password protection / secure storage / reputable third-party providers]. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access.

Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you;

  • ask us to correct or delete your information;

  • object to us processing your information;

  • withdraw consent (for example, to marketing) at any time; and

  • complain to the Information Regulator.
